Does the Patient Dog still eat the fattest bone?
It’s been said over and over and over again that “The Patient dog eats the fattest bone”…
What do You think?
I don’t know about the Patient dog eating the fattest bone, but I do know that the Patient dog learns the ropes and gains the upper hand over other dogs.
People tend to argue the idea of the Patient-fattest-bone-eating-dog because of what they see PATIENCE as; WAITING! Just waiting, and doing nothing, that’s what they see it as. Be honest, you might even be in this bandwagon. Either ways, let’s take a peak into what made the Patient Dog Patient (& possibly eat the fattest bone)
Here’s what the good book says;
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:2-4 KJV
Too old school for you? Here’s a tweak;
“My homies, when you face hard stuff that you gotta deal with, learn to see it as Dope. Cos truth is, those hard times that step on your last nerve make you stronger, and build your ability to chill in the face of anything. But you gotta let that ability to chill stick, let it become part of you, and make you cool and complete.”
Get the picture now? Patience is not waiting aimlessly for something or simply letting things happen like “Que sera Sera” (What will be will be). Rather, Patience means being strong enough to wait and learning to deal with the pleasant & unpleasant while being unfazed by them.
So in the proverbial story, the patient dog might not have actually eaten the fattest bone, but he did learn how to get the fattest bone HIMSELF.
Therefore quit hating on the patient dog and become the patient dog, that’s if you want to learn how to get the best out of life.
