So since we’re still in the stupid week (sorry, I meant Cupid week), I thought what better way to talk about Love than to see what it was originally meant for?
Today’s feature is a (Love) letter written by Apostle Paul to the church at Corinth. He took time to elaborate the intricacies of Love
I will comment in between the letter at various junctions, but most importantly get ready to learn Love from the ORIGINAL LOVE Doctor, Maker & Giver…
[1 Corinthians 13:1-8,13 (NIV)]
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
(Love is way more important than having super powers, or even being super rich or anything. Love is not just being able to sacrifice or out do what others have done. Then what is Love You ask? Check this…)
Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. (Hehe, I hope y’all Lovers didn’t skip that? Does not what? Yeah he said it, does NOT ENVY, BOAST and is NOT PROUD!)
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (Sorry there must be a mix-up somewhere, did I just read, Love keeps NO record of wrongs? As in, I literally have to “Forgive and Forget”? I can’t use an instance of someone’s failure against them if I’ve truly let it go? Is not self-seeking? That’s some selfless “Superman giving his life up kinda story” right there. Ahh, is that truly possible?)
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
(It’s official, I think this Apostle dude, Paul, just put together a list of impossible and mighty difficult feats and decided to call it Love. How can ONE human being always forgive, always hope for the best and never actually give up?)
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
(My Goodness! That didn’t get past me… Did you see it? Did it hit Your train like it did mine? Look look look! It reads… LOVE NEVER FAILS!
Un-flabbergastedly-believable!!! So what this is saying is that, with LOVE or in LOVE, nothing, NOTHING in this world should be able to overcome me?
LOVE is the greatest? It’s the Undisputed Champion? It’s only for gods to have?
Then what have we been doing since? Haven’t we been Loving? Or did we just make our own Product and call it Love? I guess so.
Cos the truth plainly says that;
“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”- 1 John 4:8 (KJV)
So God is directly equal to Love? And it takes getting to know/have Him to know/have Love? Whew, that really clears that up. That explains why all the impossible things were there on that list, that explains how it can be done, that explains that on our own as men, we lack the ability to give Love, but when we allow God, the author of Love empower us, we begin to give Love like we invented it. We begin to forgive, not envy, hope and never fail.
When we encounter GOD, we manifest LOVE.
So I guess we should quit looking for Love everywhere where it isn’t and look UP!
You can receive this Love right NOW by simply saying;
“Abba, Father of Love, I Crave You. I need You to come and fill me heart with You, with Your Love. I want to show the World how great You are, because I believe that You are truly the greatest. I receive Your Love right now and I am changed by it. Thank You for this supernatural gift… In Jesus’ name I ask, Amen”
Poof!!! There You go, You can thank me later (or even now, in the comment section). But more importantly…
