…So I punished one of my students yesterday and it was a sad moment for me.
Sad because, I hate punishing my students, and more so, it was our first meeting this year. Anyway, in the spirit of striking balance in the new term, I had to discipline the lad.
While he did his “time”, I took the chance to do some good preaching. Now I will edit the “sermon” to suit our needs here. It went (something) like this;
Now listen to me! It is important to understand the gravity of timing and appropriation. You have to know that there is a time for EVERYTHING! Life has times and seasons for everything you can imagine. It even says in the good book (of Ecclesiastes 3, verse 1) that;
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”
When you don’t pay attention to proper timing, Life will soon deal with you. If you don’t take care to observe the times allocated for things, (like time to work, time to sow, time to sacrifice, time to set aside luxury and time to bask in it,) Life will punish you more than you could ever desire (at this point, I referred to my erring student and said that is why I will take the pains to punish you now and teach you to understand time and conduct so that Life will not have to punish you).
Leave experience oh, Life’s lessons are the toughest. Experience gives you chances again and again, but you honestly have just ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Imagine spending your entire life LEARNING from Life, even when at some point you should have started EARNING from Life.
DON’T LET LIFE TEACH YOU ITS HARD LESSONS.
Don’t be carried away by momentary pleasures, peer pressures and fleshly treasures (rhymes all intended). Learn to UNDERSTAND THE TIMES and Life will yield positively for you.
I’ll say it again, DON’T LET LIFE TEACH YOU ITS HARD LESSONS!
I’ll leave you with what a wise man once said;
“If you know what to do, Life Is Easy
If You know how to do it, it is Easier
If you now begin to do it, Life is Easiest.”
