What A Waste!!!

“Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.”- Proverbs 25:4 (King James Version)

Breakdown: You see, there are many things in life which we demean or resent. Funny thing is, most times what we hate about them is not what they are, but what they are not. For instance, someone might hate coal because it’s not diamond, or HEAT because it’s not COLD, or traveling by road because it’s not traveling by air. What am I driving at you might ask? How is this related to the quote? Truthfully I don’t think it is, I just felt like saying it. When you want to label something (or more importantly someone) with disdain, ask yourself this: Do I hate this person or thing for what it is OR for what it’s not. It’s actually unfair to judge ONLY based on something external of the judged object. I am so tempted to wipe this all out, but I’ll just leave it here, you might get it, you might not…
Anyways… I Love the quote of today because what it says about ME is that I shouldn’t go around chasing (and praying) for excellence to be given me like a medal, but instead as I keep working on myself, the excesses, weights, debris and the likes will all be gradually expelled from me and allow my glory to be revealed.
The people you see ALL have greatness locked inside of them, what they need is pruning, they need HEAT (experiences that build temperance and patience) to bring out the true, pure and fit vessel hidden underneath all that junk.
Don’t write ANYONE off (most of all yourself!) based on the junk you see now, the rain might fall today and wash away the dross, the sun might shine tomorrow and burn it up, but one thing is sure; THERE IS GREATNESS HIDDEN IN EVERY PERSON, waiting… crying… itching to be let out. Why are you stalling?

Fact: The instruction/ advice the Bible gives in 1 Thessalonians 5:19 saying QUENCH NOT THE SPIRIT is still one of the best ways to deal with dross. Why?
Dross thrives in cold atmospheres, it cannot survive heat and increasing temperatures.
Dross is a mass of solid impurities floating on a molten metal or dispersed in the metal, such as in wrought iron. It forms on the surface of low-melting-point metals such as tin, lead, zinc or aluminum or alloys by oxidation of the metal. For higher melting point metals such as steel, oxidized impurities melt and float making them easy to pour off.” (Wikipedia)
Start burning, Trash the Dross; Keep Glowing: Let it shine!!!

  1. Mmmmmm. This scripture blew my mind some days ago as i saw it in a whole new light. “Remove the dross” the scripture says, and not “destroy or discard the whole material”. This tells us that a lot of what we have, some we may see as flaws , and some, others may see as a problem are materials needed for the making of the vessel. Some times we find ourselves wanting to change completely somethings about us or expecting somethings about others to just up and change (and by somethings I do not mean habits, i mean characteristics) , I believe dross removal is more of editing than deleting. Paul was a dogged persecutor of the Christians, when he turned to Christ, his doggedness didn’t disappear, instead he became a dogged believer. In this case “persecutor” is to “dross”, “dogged” is to “silver” “Apostle Paul” is to “vessel”. #StayPrayedUp #TrashTheDross.
